This page and any pages it links to explains the privacy policy for projectdelivery.gov.uk. You must agree to these to use this website.

projectdelivery.gov.uk is provided by Government Project Delivery which is a part of the HM Treasury.

HM Treasury is the data controller for this website. A data controller determines how and why personal data is processed. For more information, read HM Treasury’s entry in the data protection public register.

A data processor is an organisation or company that handles personal information on our behalf, following our instructions. Data processors do not use your information for their own purposes; they only process it as directed by us.

The following organisations are directed to process your personal information on our behalf:

Provision of enterprise IT services including email, forms, document storage, collaboration tools, and infrastructure support.

Google

Provision of enterprise IT services including cloud-based forms, document storage, collaboration tools and infrastructure.

Connect Internet Solutions

Provision of infrastructure, hosting and maintenance of the Government Project Delivery website and its databases.

 

The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • first and last name
  • email address
  • organisation or government department you work for
  • the region you are based in
  • job role
  • profile photo (optional)
  • areas of interest (optional)
  • telephone number (optional)
  • whether you are a graduate of the Major Project Leadership Academy or Project Leadership Programme (optional)
  • IP address
  • cookie identifiers

Where a user is a prospective or current Government Project Delivery fast streamer, commonly known as a fast streamer, or an event speaker or volunteer at an event for fast streamers, we collect and process the additional  following information:

  • personal email address
  • home address
  • work and personal telephone number
  • dietary requirements based on health / faith / philosophical belief based (voluntary)
  • accessibility data (voluntary)

How we get the personal information and why we have it

When we collect information

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • when you access the site and allow the use of cookies to track usage information
  • when you register for an account on projectdelivery.gov.uk
  • when you provide further optional information by updating your profile
  • when you use certain features and services of the site (for example, using a “contact us” form and booking a ticket for an event)

What we use the information for

We use the information that you have given us to:

  • provide you with access to projectdelivery.gov.uk and its services
  • gather feedback to improve our services
  • respond to any feedback you send us, if you’ve asked us to
  • send email alerts to users who request them
  • monitor use of the site to identify security threats
  • monitor the performance of the site to identify inefficiencies and errors

Who your information may be shared with

The information you provide may be shared with:

  • other users of the site when they view your profile through the people finder function
  • other users of the site when they view your comments and other posts in the community based services (for example, discussion forums)
  • our suppliers of the site for technical customer support services only
  • google Analytics for site usage information

At no point will your password or security question information be shared and is encrypted.

Where a user is a fast streamer, or an event speaker or volunteer at an event for fast streamers, information may be share with event venue coordinators.

Usage information

We collect usage information about you whenever you use projectdelivery.gov.uk.

This includes which pages you visit, searches you make and when you log in, and the IP address from the device you use to access the site.

This usage data may be used to track behaviour at the aggregate level to identify and understand trends in the way users interact with the government project delivery website to improve the platform and services we provide.

IP addresses may be used to identify unknown/unauthorised access in your account. We process this information for legitimate interests, namely improving our services to you

We use Google Analytics cookies to collect information about how you use projectdelivery.gov.uk. This includes IP addresses.

Google Analytics processes information about:

  • the pages you visit on projectdelivery.gov.uk
  • how long you spend on each projectdelivery.gov.uk page
  • how you got to the site
  • what you click on while you’re visiting the site

We make sure you cannot be directly identified by Google Analytics data. We do this by using Google Analytics’ IP address anonymisation feature and by removing any other personal data from the titles or URLs of the pages you visit.

We will not combine analytics information with other data sets in a way that would directly identify who you are.

Basis for collecting information

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are your consent, which we ask you to provide when you register for an account with the projectdelivery.gov.uk.

You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by using our contact us form or by using the contact information at the end of this policy.

Where a user is a prospective or current fast streamer, or an event speaker or volunteer at an event for fast streamers the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information is:

  • Article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR, Public task
  • Article 9(2)(g) of the UK GDPR, substantial public interest
  • Schedule 1, Part 2, Paragraph 6(2)(b) of the Data Protection Act, necessary in the exercise of a government department.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored on servers in the United Kingdom.

Information retention

We keep the personal information given at registration and any further optional information given through your profile page for as long as you have an active account with us.

Accounts which have not been active for six months will be deleted within 30 days of becoming inactive, including all personal information associated with that account.

If you withdraw your consent to this privacy policy or request that your account is deleted, all personal information will be deleted from the site within 30 days of you contacting us.

Where a user is a prospective or current fast streamer, or an event speaker or volunteer at an event for fast streamers, We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. The specific retention period/s for your personal data will be the duration of the scheme, plus 1 year. Data subjects will be contacted on an annual basis and can decide whether HM Treasury retain the information for a further year for event administration purposes, or whether the data is no longer required.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have 30 days to respond to you.
