Refreshed ‘The 7 Lenses of Transformation’ guidance launched
Yesterday, the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) has launched refreshed ‘The 7 Lenses of Transformation’ guidance. This publication explains a consistent framework for delivering complex transformation projects and programmes across government.
‘The 7 Lenses’ provides essential insights for understanding and managing large-scale transformations, building upon years of successful implementation and learning from major government transformation projects and programmes. This refreshed guidance provides updated case studies and utilises recent insights, ensuring it continues to be relevant and useful to modern-day delivery.
Developed through collaboration with experienced transformation experts – both across government and externally – ‘The 7 Lenses’ consolidates best practice into an accessible framework that organisations can easily adopt and apply to their own transformation.
While transformation projects and programmes often deliver substantial benefits to organisations and/or the public, they can present challenges in their execution. To address these challenges, this guidance provides a common language and consistent approach for designing and evaluating large government transformation projects. This standardisation is particularly valuable given the complexity of major transformations, which often require simultaneous delivery of organisational change, cultural shifts, and technological innovation.
The refreshed guidance provides practical solutions based on real-world experience, helping leaders to navigate common challenges and maximise opportunities for success.
